Famous Monsters Of Filmland With Mark Hamill
We lead off this section with the article "Starry-Eyed Warrior - Patter With a Princess: Leia!" This article is a transcription of an appearance by Carrie Fisher, Mark Hamill and Harrison Ford on the Mike Douglas Show. As I've probably mentioned before, I've long wondered if Star Wars helped keep FM going for longer than it may originally have!
Anyway, the transcription probably doesn't offer anything new to anyone who's been a longtime fan of the original film. The article is padded out a little bit with some coverage of what English Star Wars fans could purchase.
The article concludes on page 20, and then page 21 starts promoting the "Great 1978 Star Wars Contest"!
I have to admit, this contest was a clever idea... basically, Warren was trying to get you to buy your Star Wars figures through FM, and then you're encouraged to create your own scenes with them and photograph it. And yes, you did have to buy at least $15 of stuff from FM in order to enter the contest... presumably, the winning entries were published in a later issue!
