Pat Buchanan Was Right About Buttinski USA

Patrick Buchanan wrote that it was the “incessant clamor from the left” that resulted in his removal as a political analyst from MSNBC.

But as a recent interview with RT shows, it is not Buchanan’s supposed “white supremacist ideology,” as Color of Change ludicrously charged, that got him fired, but his common sense views on U.S. foreign policy, views that often intersect with the views of another pariah and thorn in the side of the establishment, Ron Paul.

As the drums of war grow stronger, the establishment media, including a supposedly liberal establishment, are purging their ranks of critics like Buchanan. In a normal, non-Bizarro world, Ron Paul would be an ideal candidate for antiwar Democrats.

Instead, he is portrayed by the corporate media (when he is portrayed at all) as a dangerous crank who would allow al-Qaeda to run rampant.

As Patrick Buchanan notes, what happens in Iran and Syria is none of our business and it certainly does not endanger our national security.

How is it, Buchanan muses, the U.S. is worried about non-existent nuclear weapons in Iran?

Arizona Continues War Against Illegals

From the Washington Times, oral arguments — a little tease here — oral arguments, the Arizona immigration law.

“Supreme Court Casts Doubt on Obama’s Immigration Law Claim — Supreme Court justices took a dim view of the Obama administration’s claim that it can stop Arizona from enforcing immigration laws…”

That’s what this is about.

Obama is suing Arizona for essentially enforcing federal immigration law.

Arizona created its own law because the Feds were not patrolling the border, securing the border, so Arizona said, “Okay, we’ll do it ourselves,” and Obama is suing the state of Arizona, and that’s what the oral arguments are about.

The Washington Times is reporting: “Supreme Court justices took a dim view of the Obama administration’s claim that it can stop Arizona from enforcing immigration laws, telling government lawyers during oral argument that the state appears to want to push federal officials, not conflict with them.”

And that is exactly right.

The justices have it exactly right.

Arizona just wants some help.

They weren’t trying to push against or conflict with Obama.

They were asking for help.

With ABC News release of the George Zimmerman photo showing blood flowing freely from his head, the question becomes whether Angela Corey, the prosecutor in the case, had access to the photo before charging Zimmerman with highly bogus second-degree murder.

The arrest affidavit did not mention the photograph, or the bleeding, gashes, and bruises on Zimmermans’ head.

Professor Alan Dershowitz of Harvard Law School stated upon release of the arrest affidavit that it was “so thin that it won’t make it past a judge on a second degree murder charge … everything in the affidavit is completely consistent with a defense of self-defense.”

Even Defense Contractors Prefer Ron Paul

Much has been made of the fact that Ron Paul is the choice of the troops, having received more donations from active duty military personnel than all the other GOP candidates combined, as well as Obama.

However, new figures also show that Ron Paul is favored among people who work in the defense sector.

U.S. Federal Election Commission (FEC) contribution records analyzed by Defense News reveal that Paul received both the most contributions and the largest total amount of cash among Republican candidates from employees of the world’s top 100 defense companies.

A total of $177,413.39 was donated to to Paul’s campaign by defense employees in 2011, with a total of 824 individual contributions, meaning an average of $215.31 per person.

That figure is the highest any GOP candidate received from defense workers at companies such as Boeing, Deloitte and Lockheed Martin.
Although Mitt Romney’s total isn’t far off Paul’s, the figures show that the former Massachusetts Governor received just 198 contributions.

Newt Gingrich and Rick Santorum received just $27,310 and $8,185, respectively from defense workers.

Defense news notes that the results are startling because, unlike the other candidates, Ron Paul has campaigned for a stemming defense spending.
Loren Thompson, chief operating officer at the Lexington Institute believes that the findings speak more to the politics of those working in the defense industry.

“There’s a strong libertarian streak among many in the sector,” he said. “Just because people work in the defense industry, doesn’t mean that they always vote their economic interests.”

The numbers could also indicate that those within the industry feel morally compelled to support the only candidate who advocates a humble foreign policy and a reduction in military activity around the world.

Gary Howard, a spokesman for the Paul campaign, noted:

“Those in the defense community, like other supporters, likely find that Dr. Paul’s common-sense foreign policy and the serious attention he pays to our nation’s number one security threat — our debt — are the most vital issues a presidential candidate must address.”

During his campaign, Paul has been sure to make a firm distinction between his definition of defense spending and military spending. Defense spending, as Paul has explained during the debates, has to do with protecting the country itself and its citizens. Defense spending can be accomplished WITHOUT overseas military spending. They are two different kinds of expense.

Never Say Anything (NSA) Silence Speaks Volumes

An article reveals that Never Say Anything (NSA) boss Gen. Keith Alexander believes the hacktavist collective Anonymous may soon have the capability to take down the power grid in the United States through a cyberattack.

Alexander has peddled his theory at White House meetings and in other private sessions, according to people familiar with the gatherings, WSJ reports.

“While he hasn’t publicly expressed his concerns about the potential for Anonymous to disrupt power supplies, he has warned publicly about an emerging ability by cyberattackers to disable or even damage computer networks,” writes Siobhan Gorman.

It’s not easy to disrupt the power grid in the United States. Most systems use proprietary operating systems and applications that are “not readily available for study by your average hacker,” writes Michael Tanj.

Power grid or drinking-water systems and networks are not connected to the public internet.

In other words, it would take more than the efforts of an internet meme scattered across imageboards and forums to disrupt this complex system. It would take the concerted resources of a nation-state like China or Russia – or more likely the NSA itself.

“Even in places like the United States, where there isn’t much you cannot find online, you’re not going to be able to get the depth and detail you need to turn off the lights with a simple network connection. You’re going to have to deploy national-level resources,” writes Tanj.

The NSA knows this. It is exploiting the minimal threat poised by Anonymous as part of a propaganda campaign designed to extend the reach of its “Perfect Citizen” program.

Perfect Citizen is being developed by defense contractor Raytheon and consists of sensors that would report public utility anomalies to the NSA via a partnership with Homeland Security, according to Ryan Singel. A Raytheon employee described it as a “Big Brother” system.

The NSA has over the years specialized is slurping up mega-amounts of private data in violation of the Fourth Amendment. The resultant database is the largest in the world. It only makes sense the NSA will do the same with the data it will now collect from utilities and the public infrastructure.

Anonymous is being used as an excuse by the government as it rolls out increasingly draconian surveillance programs under the aegis of “cyber security” and terror prevention.

Anonymous’ “electronic civil disobedience” – primarily consisting of denial service attacks on government and corporate websites – and sensationalistic media coverage feed into the plan to not only lockdown and eventually modify the free-wheeling character of the internet, but turn the medium into the most pervasive and effective surveillance apparatus on the planet.

It is becoming increasingly obvious that Anonymous itself is either an NSA op or functioning as a useful idiot.

“The power of this group is unprecedented,” Rob Johnson wrote. “On the day that the feds shut down MegaUpload.com, Anonymous responded by bringing down the websites of the US Department of Justice and the FBI, as well as the sites of the Motion Picture Association of America (MPAA), Warner Music Group, Universal Music and the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) in the largest-ever cyber attack.

Anonymous went on another spree assuming control of Senator Chuck Grassley’s Twitter account and shutting down the websites of CBS and Universal Music. Who could do all of this more effectively than the cyber special ops already in place within the government?
