Samson Versus Vampire Women

As far as Mexican wrassler superhero movies go, the Americanized Gordon K. Murray versions are even tackier than the originals because of the overacted overdubs, but if that translates into the fact that Santo was introduced to American kids on TV, even if he had to have a major name makeover as Samson, then I guess it was worth it!

Here's all the info you need to know about The Musical Credits!!!

Lorena Velázquez and a classic Buick, you'll be hard pressed to come up with a better combination than that!!

For the coolest of the cool dudes, it was all about suave and debonair!!

Changing Santo's name to Samson was pure 1960's ignorance!

Spectacular vision of the future of big screen TV!!

Wrasslin' and Vampires is good stuff in any language, and any film with Lorena Velázquez will be considered excellent, above reproach, and without argument as to quality or taste around here!!

What kind of fool wouldn't want to join this party?? Everyone knows that soul's have been an overrated commodity for some time now!

Lovely Lorena as Thorina!!

Watch Out!!! They are beutiful, but they bite!!!!

Martian Invasion Stills

This is the last Mexican Monster Monday in May with Tabonga, here at The Dungeon!.. In this adventure, Santo faces off with a bunch of Martians who land on Earth and plan on taking it over. Check out the lobby card, they make it look like they go to Mars! No, the whole flick takes place on Earth... Poor dumb kids.

Eegah!! made us a fun little soundclip of mostly kookie rock music from the club scene for our listening amusement, sooooo, you can push the big red 'GO' button there by the brick comforter, NOW, Ralphie The Tarantula! Here's a sample of spacey sounds from... SANTO vs THE MARTIAN INVASION!

These are the mighty Martians, preparing to land on Earth...

Santo watches in his lab as the Martians take over communications to broadcast their plan of conquest to the public.

Makes you wonder what el Nazi must have thought when he had to get fitted with this blonde wig and 'Martian' headgear!

All a Martian has to do is touch his victims and push a button on his belt, and... Poof!

But, where did they GO, George?

Here's the toy top they used for the flying saucer, mostly hidden by the miniature foilage... I had a few tops in my day.

Martian ladies show up at the gym and turn Santo's wrasslin' buddies against him! In the very cool Adult Swim cartoon series, THE BOONDOCKS, rapper Thugnificent had a tune called "Stomp 'Em In The Nuts!" That's what the 2nd photo reminds me of.

Sultry beauty Maura (THE BATWOMAN) Monti hypnotizes Santo into believing he has unmasked himself!

Santo takes his trademark white sportscar out (this time it looks like an MG) to fight Martian crime, wherever it may exist!

Mmmm, a mess o' marvelous Mexican Martian mavens!!

Even though the Martians have invaded Earth, there's always time for fun at the nightclub!!

With all their unearthly powers, the Martians are still no match for our hero... Viva Santo!!

Santo borrows one of the Martian's invisibility belts to see where he goes when he pushes the 'GO' button... Wait, an outhouse?!

The final battle takes place inside the saucer, any guess as to who'll win?

The Earth vs Mars movie win/loss tally: Earth 17 - Mars 0

Shadow Of Bat Stills

"La Sombra Del Murciélago" is one more amazing Blue Demon movie, this time featuring the performances by the ever so talented Puerto Rican diva Marta Romero. The basic soundtrack music is provided by Jorge Pérez.

The first song we get to hear is performed by Marta is "Con Un Poquito Este Noche" written by Armando Manzanero, as the Bat Boy, Guy, Wrasslin' Thing leers at the TV!!

Bat Dude gets so worked up after that performance, he has to go wrassle with his buddy to get it all out of his system!!

Isn't it about time for another number from Marta, okay, this time, how about
"La Mentira," written by Álvaro Carrillo!!

About that time, Blue Demon shows up!!

Now what the Hell's going on?? "Wooly Bully" with a nutty sax solo! This movie rocks!!!

You girls Go! Go! "Wooly Bully, Wooly Bully, Wooly Bully! Watch it now, watch it now!!

Then Marta comes back with "¡Aye! Que Cruz" written by Federico Curiel, but all you really want is Wooly Bully" again or at least something exciting to happen! It's no wonder Marta turned to God in her later years, and ended her career as a gospel artist!

Even the In Crowd is getting restless!!

Finally something exciting happens, but is it too late??

Bat Guy Dude says, "I still rmember the days when it was two out of three falls, and a guy had a chance to come back and win!!! What happened??"

Blue Demon Stills

It's another Friday Night Mexican Fright Fight in May with Tabonga, here at The Dungeon! Our feature stars Blue Demon, Santo and Jaime Fernández in one of the last b/w flicks to come out of Mexico, since they fully embraced (and exploited) color in the coming years...

Eegah!! was going to give us a more lengthy soundclip except that there was too much static in the mix, sooo, you can push the big red 'GO' button there by the Static Electricity Machine, NOW, Rufus The Gnat! Here's your dose of... BLUE DEMON vs THE SATANIC POWER!

This jailbird finds out the hard way that Jaime Fernández has wicked satanic powers! Looks like the dude just got off his shift at Fat Burger, I can smell french fries!

Jaime puts himself into a trance and gets buried alive! His pals come later to dig him up and revive him.

In the meantime, the winner is... Blue Demon!!

You think these guys may have an agenda?

Although this is Blue Demon's flick, Santo is there to help out. Blue Demon was also part of The Champions Of Justice which featured Mil Mascaras and Superzan in a trilogy of adventures, all with midget villains, but, did not include Santo.

Back at the ranch, Jaime is using his hypnotic powers to get women to strip off their clothes for him!.. Carrumba!!

He also has some special playrooms in his cellar for entertaining!

Here's the girl singing in the club at the end of the soundclip. I like the skeleton hanging on the wall there, it's so kitsch-a-rooni...

Jaime's using his powers to cause cardiac arrest in some of the wrasslers!

Santo pops in to give Blue Demon some moral support in his battle against the Satanic Power.

But, Jaime knows how to put the screws to anyone who opposes him! At one point, he almost gets Blue Demon to commit suicide by jumping off the roof, only, BD luckily falls onto a ledge, which saves him and snaps him out of the spell. Sheesh!..

Here's the effect they use to show that Jaime's really pouring on the evil!

And, in the end, again, evil has to pay the ultimate price!.. That!
