Castle Of Frankenstein With Lon Chaney & Virgil Finlay
Letters here were from Sammy Shapiro of Charlotte, NC, and Robert Campbell of Tiverton, RI.
The page also has an ad for the 7-reel version of the Phantom of the Opera for $67.95 plus postage.
The Headitorial continues here, with comments about the Forbin Project, Escape From the Planet of the Apes, Let's Scare Jessica To Death, Night of the Living Dead, Splendor in the Grass, Little Murders and Panic in Needle Park.
Page 49 is a one-page strip by Larry Hama, later of GI Joe fame.
Page 50 has... well... the item on half the page, which is weird enough, plus more of the Headitorial, which starts to talk about Jules Feiffer's cartoons.
A full page ad takes up page 51, advertising front cover reprints of CoF without printed matter on the back, posters, movie stills, the Chris Lee Dracula Record, and a few other items, too!
Page 52 has a Virgil Finlay illustration accompanied by a very brief eulogy for the then-recently-passed artist. The "Headitorial" talks more about Feiffer, and claims to then go into a film treatment called "Up Against The Wall Mother Flogger" -- which continues on page 53.
I have no idea what to make of the text on this page (which continues on page 58)... the page also has two items from Lust for a Vampire, probably of more interest!
