Collectibles With Beatles Will Eisner Gil Kane Jack Kirby Stan Lee Chuck Norris & Jim Steranko
Time to start on Volume 14 of my "Cool Stuff" photo archives, and I'm beginning with the above two 12-inch Mego figures of Captain America and the Hulk with Fly-Away Action! After the jump, lots of other assorted coolness!
Next, we have this very cool advance poster for 2001: A Space Odyssey!
Wow, how cool is this? DynaPubs put out this album of selected audio from the 1975 San Diego Comic-con, and until I came across the auction this was listed in, I was unaware this even existed! I may just have to do some Googling to see if anyone's made an MP3 of this one...
Now, we look at some more Mego items... above is the Aqualad figure on the card from the 8-inch line! And below, two of Garth's fellow Titans:
Ah, I wish these photos were larger... first, it's Mego's Batcopter for their 8-inch line, then the Empire Toys Batcopter scaled for the same figures. Now, I don't know about you, but I'd much rather have the Empire Toys version than the Mego one (if I could afford to collect Megos these days, anyway)...
Mego did do a nice job with the Batcycle, didn't they?
Goofy, goofy, goofy... it's the Captain Americar and the Green Arrowcar!
Palitoy's release of the Mego Hulk! I must say, I do like the card art on this one!
In my quest to find photos on eBay for all the Mego superheroes on the card and in the box, finding the Iron Man figure on the card was the hardest to manage! But if you think that's rare...
Yes, that's a Mego version of Hanna-Barbera's Mighty Mightor!
From 8-inch Megos, let's go on to some 8mm home movies, shall we?
First, it's the 8mm home version of Barbarella!
Heh, when I saved this photo from an eBay auction in June, 2008 (featuring two of my favorite Disneyland rides), I had no idea that when I finally was going to prepare a Cool Stuff entry using it to run in December 2010 (but writing it in August 2010) that I was going to be going to Disneyland weeks after actually getting around to it!
Wow, that came out completely incomprehensible, didn't it? OK, I'll clarify. The auction that these two movies was featured in happened in June 2008, which is when I saved the photo. On August 2, 2010, I'm writing this entry, which will run on December 2, 2010... but the last week of August, 2010, my family and I are visiting Disneyland (which will have already happened by the time anyone reads this).
It's amazing I even know what day of the week it is, isn't it?
Here's an unusual find... someone apparently created this customized box when they happened upon some copies of the Castle Films Dracula that weren't released before!
Earth Vs. the Flying Saucers!
The Giant Behemoth!
Invaders From Mars!
Jetsons!
Konga!
Magical Mystery Tour!
And we'll wrap up this installment with this Mighty Mouse 8mm home movie box!
